SIEGE OF AMIDA RECORDS 2011
Release: 06-06-2011
Origin: United Kingdom
Length: 42:29
While I am still wondering, walking and being drunk, stoned and beaten to death at the Neurotic Deathfest and hearing flashes of Origin or Decripit Birth from the main hall, Dying Fetus and Black Dahlia Murder are changing the middle stage and at the basement Carnifex and The Faceless are hacking up the small area, I am wondering and focusing already on my next to review project: Ingested.
At this moment a quite unknown name and just 4 years around in the modern death slam core metal section. With their first split album, hacked up with Kastrated and Crepitation, their musical style was already described by the title “North-West Slam Fest”. In 2009 their style was surpassed by their debut album, that explored the boundaries of death metal and showed us a more human suffering death metal way. Now after 2 years “The Surreption” is here to gather all the diverse styles of the (modern) death metal roots, that are presented at the festival and used to smash them up to (with) their own Ingested “slamming” style.
First of all the sound and overall mixing of the album is superb and of a very clear pushing effect; from all the bands gathered here today, Ingested can be called the winner of today, but based on the presented musical qualities and also the gathering of all the diverse and modern (read or hear: heard to often and released too much lately) death metal styles Ingested will still be hosting the smaller stages and at earlier hours of this two day festival.
Modern styled slamming death metal; not enough to be the (personal) eruption at a death metal festival.
