After giving this album a thorough listen, the first band that came to mind was Disillusion and their renowned masterpiece "Back to Times of Splendor". That was a truly perfect album, and this is no different. They both have the same emotional vibe that lifts the music above all overs, towering in a tier of their own. For the most part, I'd call this a black metal album, but with the occasional death element like vocals, but that's pretty much it. A very moving album; I can literally feel the pain this guy is going through (coming to terms with a murder) and this music conveys it so well. Never again had I thought I'd come across musical perfection, but I was wrong. Here it is, ladies and gentlemen, a perfect album.
There is a defined beginning and ending to this record, and I actually feel like I'm progressing through a vicarious journey, with this troubled man as my host, feeling his ups, his downs, and hardships. I'm awestruck. This is refined beautify in every way imaginable.
