No início de 1991 o DISMEMBER voltou ao Sunlight Studios e gravou seu primeiro álbum, “Like an Ever Flowing Stream”. O lançamento aconteceu em Maio de 1991 foi seguido por ótimas críticas em toda imprensa especializada. Uma turnê europeia com o Morbid Angel foi agendada, mas que acabou mais cedo devido a discordâncias com a banda principal.
Assim a banda volta para a Suécia, e em Março de 1992 lança um EP de 5 faixas chamado “Pieces”. Este EP reforçou a reputação deles como uma das principais bandas de Death Metal da Suécia.
Mas em Julho de 1992 eles são acusados de "obscenidade" pela Côrte de Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, Inglaterra, onde as letras da banda para a música Skin Her Alive foram descritas como “terríveis, assustadoras e repulsivas… podendo incitar violências aos ouvintes”. Felizmente o juiz decidiu que as letras não incentivavam a violência.

Com uma visão ainda mais cínica das ridículas leis contra obscenidades, o DISMEMBER começou a trabalhar em seu próximo álbum, “Indecent and Obscene”. O produto da boa cooperação com o produtor Tomas Skogsberg fez do álbum mais um marco na fantástica história do quinteto. O álbum mostrou a banda mais madura, acessível, mas não menos agressiva do que nos trabalhos anteriores, e sem se esquecer de suas origens.
E, seguida, lançam seu terceiro full-lenght, “Massive Killing Capacity”, em Agosto de 1995. O álbum mostrou os suecos em melhores condições do que nunca., mais maduros e fazendo um som mais pesado e músicas mais cadenciadas. E com isso, vieram as criticas negativas dos fãs mais "xiitas", que não aceitaram o direcionamento mais acessível da banda.
Após um curto espaço de tempo, mais precisamente em 1997 eles retornaram com uma vingança: o single “Misanthropic” seguido pelo álbum, “Death Metal”, que mostrou à emergente segunda geração do Death Metal que o DISMEMBER ainda é uma força sempre presente.
Desde então, eles lançaram mais quatro álbuns seguindo essa linha: "Hate Campaign"(2000), "Where Ironcrosses Grow" (2004), "The God That Never Was" (2006) e "Dismember" (2008); além dos dvds "Live Blasphemies" (2004) e "Under Bloodred Skies" (2009).
