It's been a fortnight since we've had a post chock-full of savage butchery, has it not? Visceral Disgorge hail from "violence-ridden bowels of Baltimore" and have just released my favorite brutal death metal record of 2011 so far. I can't imagine that you could take a look at that band name/album cover and need me to tell you what Ingesting Putridity sounds like, but I will say that it's a near-perfect balance of unostentatious technicality, outright brutality, and ass-clobberin' slammage. Seriously, everything sounds so perfectly genre-appropriate that it's almost like slipping on an old pair of Devourment loafers and hacking up some corpses in the ol' tool shed... just like back when we were kids.
Sure, the vocals could be mixed in a little louder and the insipid "thematic elements" are contrived beyond belief, but hey, we're not putting a man on the moon here. Just the opposite, in fact... we're burying him in the backyard.

Invest in Putridity
Sometimes I worry that I'm getting too smart. My mental capacity is expanding by leaps and bounds every single day, and who knows what horrors might await me if I let it go unchecked? I'd surely wind up forcefully recruited into the CIA or NASA, which would totally suck because what are the chances that the bosses over there AREN'T total dicks?
So I play it safe by dulling my senses with copious amounts of ignorantly brutal death metal. Take Abnormity's Irreversible Disintegration demo, for example. Now that my formerly favorite Russian slam metal band kind of sucks, these dudes are poised to leapfrog past Abominable Putridity as the official Ivan Drago to our Rocky Balboa (aka Devourment). Did that make any sense? No. It didn't.
See? It's totally working. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Abnormity has successfully retarded me.
Anywayyyyy, these two songs pack in as much blunt -force trauma to the the cerebral cortex as most full length brutal DM records, leaving me mentally impaired enough to get out of teaching supersymmetric quantum mechanics at MIT, but smart enough so's I can complete menial tasks at my job without too much hand-holding.
