It's not often we get bands from the US that manage to keep up that quality black metal sound release after release, but Black Torment is a special band that just doesn't disappoint! Obscurum is an especially cold and hateful release with a very simple, wall-of-noise type sound. Straightforward BM here and well done at that, with grisly, echoing vocals to keep this sounding evil and menacing.

Also home to what has to be the most catchy and engaging instrumental in the genre: "Depression". Man, I could listen to this on repeat for hours; there's just something about it. So haunting.
