Holy shit! Now here's something new! Al-Namrood is a unique Saudi Arabian band that takes those classic oriental tunes and melodies you hear in cartoons and movies and fuses them with black metal. Doesn't sound like a very good idea, but boy was I proven wrong. This is actually some really great stuff here, very innovative and infectiously catchy.
Atba'a Al-Namrood is one of those releases that is just plain enjoyable. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, this is quality metal. Some bands sound forced or pained when trying to go with exotic sounds, but not Al-Namrood. You can tell they are remaining true to their culture and I am duly impressed with the results. Do yourself a huge favor and grab this. You will not be disappointed.
Their full-length has been released, but I am still waiting on the mp3s, so be patient, one of these days I'll get it up.
