---------------------------------------------

A recent, and very impressive, debut from the Englanders Winterfylleth. This album has that gritty feel, in your face. They know it's good, and you better think so too! The guitar tone is, as put by Lustmord56, very gravelly and takes on a sort of brooding tone, really helping with the atmosphere in this piece. It's a bit on the harsh side, but that only ads to its charm.

Full of breathtaking interludes, I still find myself awestruck by the songwriting and way this album is presented. It's not fast-paced, but more of a chugging mid-paced record. However, each tremolo pick is slow and deliberate, seamlessly binding this album together to create a remarkably concentrated album, full of emotion.

There are slight Pagan-like overtones present here and there, what with the occasional chanting and march-like melodies. Overall a very unique and widespread album. Recommended if you want something new.
